HISTORY
PKB Racing was formed by me, Pete Boyles, who is also the
rider, in 1998.The first bike was a 1995 Honda CBR600FS, imported as an accident
write-off from the USA. Lights and most road gear was removed and a fibreglass
fairing fitted. The bike already had a Yoshimura full race system and K&N
filter, but other than that was completely in road trim with no tuning to
suspension or engine.
At the end of 2001, Clive Wadey of Paxford Garage loaned me
his Yamaha R1 to contend the final round of the EMRA Championship. I was so
impressed with the bike, that I bought it without hesitation.
May 2003, Clive Wadey offered the use of a Yamaha XJ550 to do
the Earlystocks Championship on for 2003. Great fun and a superb bike (once we
got it running right!). Finished 3rd in EMRA Earlystock 750cc Championship 2003.
Clive Wadey has bought me the 2002 championship winning XJ550
ridden by Karl Scott. Excellently prepared machine and very competitive. Kept
last years bike as a spare.
Have bought another Top Banana race bike. I now have a Suzuki
GSX750 ridden successfully this year by Keith Chambers. The XJ550 is just not
competitive against the tuned 750 bikes which now dominate this class. If you
can't beat em, join em!!
